Last Saturday, in Ahvenisto racing circuit, radalle.com organized the One More Time races for it's popular Time Attack series. The day was super nice and very crowded, in a good way. The parking lot was filled with nice tuned, track built cars and variety was huge!

As this was outside of the series race, we spent most of the day fiddling with our cars settings. Some of them were not so successfull, while some were. In the end of the day the Civic felt super grippy and fast around the track, but the races were already done by then. Lucky for our competitors ;)

Even though the 2011 series is already over, Time Attack racers are getting once more to the track to entertain the audience and compete against the clock.

It's official, our team has won the club class championship for 2011!

Our Civic has dominated the season in sub 2.5l class and has been very competitive in general Club class taking two first places, one second and one third. Only race where we didn't make it to the podium was at Ahvenisto where our tires were totally worn out and we lost third place with 0.001 seconds for Mr. Tuominen.

Overall, the season 2011 has been very pleasant for us. There have not been any major problems, and as the season got further, the car got better and better. This has also been seen in the results.

Seems that Oivo drove his personal best for the day, a 1:21. -time and won the Club Class in both under and over 2,5L.

I got a neat picture of Oivo sliding. He braked hard when he entered the corner, locked both rear wheels and gave a spectacular example of car control when he drifted through. :)

We woke up inhumanly early to get gas for the Civic.

After quick gas station trip we got to the track, about 0830. Weather is bit chilly, only +12C, just before starting the first time attack Club Class qualifying. (I think it was about 1000'o clock?)

The commentator announced a 1:23.180 for Oivo

Second time I heard something from the commentator was 1:25.000 for Mr. Tuominen (driving with Gulf Nissan 200SX)

...and the best time for Oivo in Q1 was 1:22.600 something...

In Comp & Unlimited Q1, Saku Nurminen drove a 1:14.6xx time:

The second qualifying almost turned into skidpad. Drifters had made the track very slippery and I caught Oivo in a slide.

Next track in Time Attack series is Botniaring. We have a new set of tires for Civic and couple of new additions for the car. We try to do some updates from the trackside as well, hope the gods of speed, electricity and connection are on our side.
